Program Space Requirements
How much space do we recommend for a GMB workout?
Our usual recommendation is an area of about 3 meters by 3 meters (~10 feet x 10 feet), but guess what? You can still train effectively in a smaller space, and we totally encourage it.
There are many ways to utilize small spaces in your home, so don't let it be a deal breaker. Get creative! And check out this detailed article with helpful tips on making the most of your space at home.
What kind of surface should I use for training?
First, let us preface this by saying that you don't need special mats for training, whether at home, outdoors, or at the gym. Any comfortable (and safe) surface for you to move around on is great! Carpet, gym flooring, or even grass are all good options.
But if you've got hard floors and want something softer to cover them, puzzle mats can be a great option, especially if you're training in a small or odd-shaped space. You can find them online or at most sporting goods stores. Order as many pieces as you need and then fit them together to make the right-sized mat. If you need the space for other things (like living), you can pull them apart and store them out of the way after you are done. 👍🏻
